Evan began racing at age seven in indoor karting. What started as a weekend hobby quickly developed into a serious pursuit of motorsport. By age ten he transitioned into outdoor karting competition, earning Rookie of the Year honors and progressing to national-level racing shortly after.
During his karting career, Evan competed against some of the strongest fields in the country, often doing so on a fraction of the budget of larger teams. Those early years helped develop the core skills that define his driving today—car control, racecraft, and the ability to quickly adapt to new cars and tracks.
At 14, Evan made the transition from karting to SCCA Spec Racer Ford competition, quickly finding success in both regional and national events. Just a year later, in 2021, he made his professional racing debut at only 15 years old in the Trans-Am TA2 Series with B2 Motorsports. Strong performances in his first three races immediately drew attention and earned him a full-time opportunity the following season with Stevens-Miller Racing, supported by sponsorship from Cube 3 Architecture.
After consistently running at the front of the field throughout 2022, Slater secured a position as team driver for Showtime Motorsports for the 2023 season, continuing to establish himself as one of the sport’s promising young competitors.
In 2024, Evan further expanded his experience by competing in the Radical Cup North America championship. The high-downforce prototype cars presented a dramatically different driving challenge from the machinery he had raced previously. Adapting quickly to the new platform, Slater captured multiple race wins and podium finishes over the course of the season—another clear demonstration of his versatility and ability to perform across a wide range of racing disciplines.
In 2025, Evan partnered with Michael Merritt to co-drive Merritt’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in endurance competition within the IGT Championship. Combining on-track performance with Evan’s driver coaching and data analysis, the pair secured the season championship.
For 2026, Evan continues his progression in professional sports car racing, co-driving with Ray Mason in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge aboard the Ford Mustang GT4 with KohR Motorsports.
